Prior to co-founding Zurple, Tom worked in the White House Speechwriting Office and as an attorney in the mergers and acquisitions group at Cooley, a law firm whose clients include Adobe, Ebay, Facebook, Google and Zynga. Tom co-founded Owen Properties, a residential real estate brokerage, and has over one billion dollars in transaction experience. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and the Law School at the University of California, Los Angeles. Tom is a member of the California State Bar and admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Ken’s career in technology includes President/CEO/Chairman of SONICblue and President/CEO/Chairman of Maxwell Technologies. Prior to leading Maxwell Technologies, Ken was executive vice president and general manager of Conner Peripherals Disk Drive Operations. He also worked in management at Quantum, DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) and Texas Instruments. Ken currently serves on the board of several companies, including Newport Corporation, Parametric Sound, Bump.com, Lumedyne and One Stop Systems. Ken received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College and his masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Larry is the former President and CEO of Taxcient, a provider of sales and use tax compliance software and services. He joined the board of directors of Avalara when Taxcient merged with Avalara in January 2010. Since 2008, Larry has also served on the board of CalAmp (CAMP). From 1987 to 2001, Larry was employed by Intuit and certain predecessor companies, most recently as senior vice president responsible for the tax division. In addition to his role as senior vice president, he was vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Personal Tax Group. Larry received a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
